Ron was born in East
Los Angeles, CA in 1966, and shortly thereafter relocated to Seattle,
WA early in 1967. On a sunny Summer day in 1971, in the Pacific
Northwest, Ron's father introduced him to the 7-11 Slurpee and the
infamous "Hey! Kids...Comics" spin rack. The 4 color mayhem of the
Fantastic 4 and web-slinging action of the Amazing Spider-man filled
the rest of the Summer. He was hooked. Hooked on comics. Ron's
drawings went from houses and cars to "kirbyesque" attempts at the
cannon of mainstream comic characters.
Ron wanted to draw
comics for a living. He was going to need formal art training. In
1987, with the help of other artist friends, he found the School of
Visual Concepts in Seattle,(which frowned on comics back then) where
he would hone his craft. In 1991, Ron heeded the call of San Diego's
International Comic-con. Ron's career in comics began that weekend.
Ron went on to work
for Caliber Comics, who published his first work, Marvel, Marvel's
Epic line, DC, and Valiant/Acclaim. During that time, Ron had worked
on Batman, Superman, Daredevil, Worlverine, Black Lightning, and
Deathstroke, as well as other characters.
Ron Took a hiatus
from comics in 1996, but the burn of comics brought him back in 2003,
with his own creation "RUSH". Ron Still lives in Seattle with his
wife of 16 years, their children, Sean 11, Brianna 13, and their cat
