Born in 1954, Jamie Delano was a long time realising his vague intent to one day be  a writer.  He was 29, veteran of various laborious endeavours – from librarian to tree-butcher to taxi operator – when an introduction from a more assiduous friend gained him an opportunity to work professionally, writing scripts for first British, and later American comic book publishers.

In the years since then, Delano has made a diverse, cross-genre, contribution to the comic book medium, scripting both original works: World Without End, Tainted, Ghostdancing, Hell Eternal, Cruel and Unusual, Territory, Outlaw Nation; and publisher-owned properties such as Captain Britain, Dr Who, Night Raven, Hellblazer, Animal Man, The Batman, Shadowman

In 1999, Delano was commissioned to adapt an original comic book work - Hell Eternal - as a screenplay.  He found the experience both intriguing and frustrating enough to encourage a desire to learn more about the craft of writing movies and, to date, alongside occasional comic work, continues to flirt with the moving picture, developing both original scripts and adaptations, one or more of which may make it to the screen one day.

Delano is currently co-operating with an independent producer in an attempt to realise 2020 Visions for TV, awaiting publication of two comic book miniseries – Narcopolis and Rawbone – completed for Avatar Press, and scripting a children’s adventure series for a Spanish publisher whilst, sporadically, working on a novel.

Jamie Delano lives in semi-rural Northamptonshire with his partner, Sue.  They have three adult children and three grandchildren.
